What are US Ismaili Games?

US Ismaili Games (USIG) is the new name for AKYSB’s National Sports Tournament, previously called USA NST.

Why the name change?

With the upcoming Jubilee Games in Dubai 2016, the tournament’s name was changed to synchronize it with all other Ismaili tournaments around the world.

What are the dates for the tournaments?

The USIG will be held over Thanksgiving Weekend 2015. Registered participants are requested to arrive on Thursday, November 26, 2015 and plan departure for the afternoon of Sunday, November 29, 2015.

Where will the tournaments be held?

The USIG will be held in Dallas, Texas. Additional site details will be provided as they become available.

How can I register for the Tournament?

After regional qualifications are complete, registration will be available via Regional winners and qualifiers will be emailed an athlete specific link from the USIG registration team with specific instructions and steps on how to register.

What are the sports being offered?

How old do I need to be in order to participate in Ismaili Games?

Each athlete must be 16 years of age by the start of the tournament, November 27, 2015. The only exception is if you have applied for and been granted and an Elite Youth athlete exemption. Any athletes who are 16 and 17 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times during the tournament, including lodging.

Who can be a chaperone?

A chaperone must be a parent of a minor participating or attending the USIG. The chaperone can supervise up to a maximum of three (3) minors. A Chaperone cannot be an athlete and must stay in the same room accommodations as the minors he/she is chaperoning.

Can I participate in the US Ismaili Games without playing in my regional tournament?

In order to compete in Ismaili Games, you must have participated and qualified through your regional tournament or be identified as an exceptional athlete from your region.

Whom can I contact to get more information about my region?

Each region has an assigned Regional Team Manager who will be your main point of contact throughout the USIG process for things like registration, payments, logistics, scheduling, room assignments, etc… You can reach out to your RTM via the below email addresses:

How do I book a hotel room at the Host Hotel?

When registering for the USIG, you will indicate that you would like to stay at the host city hotel. The fees and costs for your hotel accommodation will automatically be calculated and included in your cost and payment amount.

What does the Athlete Hotel Package include?

The Athlete Hotel Package includes tournament fees, hotel accommodations for three (3) nights, transportation to and from all sites and events, meals for all four (4) days, jerseys, and memorabilia.

What does the Athlete Non Hotel Package include?

The Athlete Non Hotel package excludes hotel accommodations and transportation from the package above. This means athletes will be responsible for transporting themselves to all venues and facilities, including game venues and fields, as per the scheduled times or may be subject to a forfeit.

What does the Spectator Hotel Package include?

The Spectator Hotel Package includes tournament fees, room for three (3) nights, access and transportation to and from all sites and events, meals for all four (4) days, and memorabilia.

What does the Spectator Non Hotel Package include?

The Spectator Non Hotel Package excludes hotel accommodations and transportation from the package above

What happens if a member of the Jamat wants to attend the games but has not purchased any packages?

The games itself are open to Jamat and everyone is welcome to attend. Spectators who do not purchase a spectator package will have to purchase food separately and purchase tickets to evening events if tickets are required.

At which airport in Dallas should I arrive?

The primary airport that accommodates all airlines and is centrally located is Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport (DFW) and this is the preferred airport to arrive. The alternate airport that members can fly into is Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL). This is an alternate and smaller airport and may be limited to certain airlines.
